Overview

Malwilde was founded durring the early 17th century in early spring of the year 1616, by Ůhiyḿ Ashbridge. The establishment of Malwilde suffered from several major issues, resulting in the need to develop many solutions to basic problems. Problems such as a lack of fresh water, logistical support, poor quality tools, and the odd monster or two. Howeaver, these were overcome in time.

Malwilde was built using the conventions of Sylvin durring the early 17th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Malwilde is no diffrent. The city's buildings feature masoned stone construction which prominantly features pointed arches, pointed ribbed vault cielings, flying buttress', and window tracery all of which share a simmilar gemoetetic patern halfway between organic and inorganic in design formaing a very distinct aesthetically integrated style. BUildings tend to reach for the havens, and more expencive homes are easily identified by their floor count as well as the addition of decorative features intigrated into the building's design such as statues, gargoyals, and embelished joinery.

Malwilde is was constructed arround several restrictive packed earth mainstreets which cross one another at certain axies, with smaller streets branching off of them to premit acess to the many buildings deeper into the road network. The overall fashion is remenessent of a circulatory system, or other organic construct, and is quite effishent in its design. The city resides behind a palisade wall complete with battlments, a moat, and timber gatehouses with drawbridges. Malwilde's robustly designed timber walls are suffering from significent damage, so much so that examples can be pointed to no matter which section one might have within their line of site, and most of which render sections inoperable at present.

A look around Malwilde makes you wonder how anything ever gets done. The locals have clear, obvious rivalries with one another, as seen through clenched teeth and fake smiles. What’s more, there is a serious lack of any organization and planning in Malwilde’s layout as well as the local’s behaviors. The city seems to be a den of chaos where tongues are forked and local customs do not exist.

Cultural Notes

Malwilde's garrison was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is known for its fluid and florid elaborate style, comprising ornate, asymmetric designs and pastel shades. It is often considered to be a playful, light style, which made exuberant use of curves and emphasized subtle asymmetry in the general shape of its structures. Walls, ceilings and moldings are decorated with numerous interlacing of curves and counter-curves based on the shapes of ‘C’ and ‘S’, along with shell forms and other naturalistic shapes.

In Malwilde the utterance of expletives is impossible within city limits. This has changed as the limits have changed, but has not kept up with slang, or swearing in foreign languages.

The Fox, Fading near Malwilde are known to be almost tame, such that they can be put to domestic use.

Malwilde's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in spring and involves long periods of drunkenness to channel Necromancy energies of tier 3 via throat singing.

Points of Interest

Malwilde has been cursed with some blight that makes life difficult, albeit not impossible. An offended sorcerer's vengeful Working, an outraged god's wrath, a local distortion of the Legacy, or a simple history of bad feng shui in the area may have brought the curse about. I(devise not only the curse, but the reason why the locals haven't left for better lands).
